Two arrested for illegally transporting cows, oxen in Andhra Pradesh

Krishna (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 30 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh police arrested two individuals on Monday for illegally transporting cows in two lorries in Krishna district.

In keeping with the police, two lorries carrying cattle had been tightly lined with a tarpaulin sheet. On suspicion, police stopped the lorries and located 20 cows and 35 oxen being illegally transported from Narasannapeta in Srikakulam district to Telangana’s Hyderabad.
The police then despatched lorries to Mylavaram city. A neighborhood “Gau Samrakshana” wing volunteers helped launched the animals. Nonetheless, seven cows died on this ordeal.
G Konduru Sub-inspector Rambabu mentioned, “The lorries had been going from Narasannapeta city in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad, Telangana. They had been caught close to Konduru at round 2 pm.”
“Proprietor-cum-drivers of the lorries had been arrested on the spot. Instances are filed beneath the provisions of the Animal Cruelty act and cow slaughter act,” mentioned Rambabu
The accused shall be produced earlier than the courtroom on Tuesday, he added. (ANI)
