Departmental Inquiry Committee to establish Vizag crane collapse cause: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi [India], Aug 2 (ANI): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh mentioned a departmental enquiry committee has been instituted to ascertain the trigger resulting in the accident through which 11 folks had been killed when an enormous crane collapsed at Hindustan Shipyard Restricted (HSL) in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam metropolis on Saturday morning.

Taking to Twitter, Singh wrote, “Extraordinarily anguished by the lack of lives because of an accident at HSL facility in Vishakhapatnam(AP). My ideas are with the bereaved households. Could the injured recuperate rapidly. Departmental Enquiry Committee has been instituted to ascertain the causes resulting in the accident.”
The incident occurred whereas a crane constructed by contractor Anupam Engineers and Greenfield was being examined for load functionality. The crane tilted out of the blue and collapsed falling on the north aspect of the Slipway-Four on the crane monitor.
Out of 11 folks killed, 4 had been HSL workers and 7 had been contract staff of three contracting companies
Police registered an FIR and are investigating the case. In the meantime, District Collector Vinay Chand additionally arrange a committee to launch an inquiry into the incident. (ANI)
