Autorickshaw, light vehicles associations stage protest against fuel price hike in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], June 30 (ANI): The Autorikshaw Federation together with the Taxi and Gentle Car Affiliation below the Centre of Indian Commerce Unions (CITU) staged a protest towards the petrol and diesel worth hike, right here on Tuesday.

Anathalavattom Anandan, State president CITU whereas talking to ANI mentioned, “When the oil worth declines within the worldwide market, Central Authorities helps corporates to extend their revenue by growing oil worth.”
He added: “When the Modi Authorities got here into energy, Rs 92,000 crores was the income generated from tax and now it’s three lakh crores. After they got here into energy, $118 was the value of oil per barrel. At the moment, the value of petrol was Rs 62 and Rs 48.”
Anandan additional mentioned that the crude oil worth per barrel is $40 and the petrol worth is Rs 82, there have been 29 rupees distinction between petrol and diesel however now, “the value of diesel is crossing that of petrol.”
He mentioned that the CITU is demanding to extend taxi, auto and bus expenses as fewer persons are utilizing public transport for commuting amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“There aren’t any passengers commuting because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s affecting 25 lakh households and the Central Authorities is accountable for this. The Centre helps the company and the labourers and the poor are the victims of the recession, conflict and any sort of pandemic globally,” he added. (ANI)
